Losing a loved one is always difficult, but creating a legacy in their memory can bring comfort and hope which is why I am launching my new dandelion art print to raise money for Frimley Health NHS Charity, in memory of my Dad.
The Background
My Dad suffered with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) for many years - a lung disease which left him breathless and as a result, very anxious. He did however, have a passion for art and found comfort by drawing regularly on his iPad. It was actually my Dad who introduced me to digital art and taught me many tips and tricks on the app I use for my artwork today.
Sadly, in June 2022, my Dad passed away and in honour of his memory I have created a beautiful art print to not only help raise funds for a charity that's close to my heart but to provide a comforting reminder to anyone out there who may feel anxious (or just need a daily reminder on their wall), to stop and 'just breathe'.
The Art Print
The art print features a dandelion in a calming navy blue colour, with seeds dispersing away from it and around it as if it had just been blown. You can choose either to have this printed with or without the words 'Just breathe'.
I've chosen this design because it's relevant to my Dad's love of art and his need to stop and take one breath at a time to overcome the anxiety he suffered. I believe it is a fitting tribute to his memory.
The Charity
20% of the sale of each dandelion print (with or without the words 'just breathe') will be donated to Frimley Health Charity via Work For Good. I've chosen this charity as they looked after my Dad for many years and he would regularly talk of all the lovely doctors and nurses he met at appointments and when he was admitted.
I'm hoping to raise funds to help the charity provide equipment and services that go beyond the limited NHS budget and at a time when they need our support the most. It's my way of saying thank you for all their hard work.
How To Purchase
The art print is available for purchase via the below 'Buy Now' button which will take you to the relevant website page.
You could treat yourself or maybe you know someone who would appreciate it as a gift. Either way, not only will you be supporting a great cause but you will also have a beautiful piece of art to enjoy for years to come.
How Else Can You Help
I understand that not everyone may be in a position to purchase a print, but there are other ways to support my cause, such as:
Sharing my website on social media
Telling your friends and family
Commenting, liking and sharing this blog
All are free and every little bit helps. If you've ever lost a loved one you'll understand how important this is to me and I'm very grateful for any support I receive.
Such a worthwhile cause and a lovely way to remember your dad. ❤️❤️
